Main Gallery
More than a flat wall space, the 3,500ft2 gallery particularly welcomes artists whose work provides multiple routes of engagement and a stimulating experience for the visitor. Annually we host three major shows of six weeks, a site specific commission and two shows offering opportunity to art graduates and emerging local artists. The main gallery has 700sq metres of wall space reaching a height of 4.5 metres. It is flooded with natural light and offers considerable scope for artists working on a large scale. The walls are constructed to take the weight of the largest 2d or 3d work. Cast iron ceiling supports also offer options for the exhibitor. This gallery is also an impressive back drop to performance and events.
Main gallery exhibitions primarily by invitation, although detailed submissions welcome: gallery@fishmarketgallery.co.uk
This space is currently curated by the NAC curatorial committee; Christine Midgeley, Karl Hobbs and Amy Pettifer, in conjunction with a number of advisors.
