Spaces
There are 5 clear and distinct exhibition spaces: Main Gallery, Gallery 2, Goby Gallery, Project Plinth, The Courtyard and The Exterior.
The stunning main gallery is complemented by two smaller galleries and a sculpture / installation plinth, making it one of the most versatile exhibition and performance venues in the country.
Harry Pye & James Jessop – It Takes Two. This NAC curated show moved on to the Sartorial Gallery, London. Collaborators included Billy Childish, Stella Vine and Jasper Joffe.
Alex Gene Morrison’s giant alien landscapes and video prompted the BBC Collective to state ‘Alex Gene Morrison’s is a pleasingly disgusting world, currently found in the intriguingly odd Northampton gallery, Fishmarket. Locals are still happy to pass through on their way to the shops, bemused and bewildered’
Charlotte Brisland’s landscapes enthralled visitors and enhanced the unique performance given by celebrated avant-garde musician Tony Conrad.
The Fishmarket’s Freezing Art Fair offered local and national artists a forum to exhibit and sell work in this eclectic open show. December 2008 sees a return of the fair after a triumphant inaugural event.
